Every evening in the club “Shamrock” dances were arranged for the workers of the cardboard factory. Factory workers, bosom friends Anna and Maggie came here. Anna came with her boyfriend and took with her Maggie, an inconspicuous fool with dull eyes, who always warmed the wall.

Maggie once appeared in a club with a chic guy whom she introduced as Terry O’Sullivan. The girls besieged Maggie with requests to introduce Terry, and the young people after two years of blindness saw their light and noticed that Maggie was quite an attractive girl. Terry danced beautifully, created an atmosphere of courtesy around him and invited the girl Dempsey Donovan to the dance twice, which was not safe. Dempsey was the leader of society and the henchman of Big Mike O’Sullivan, a man who enjoys great authority from the police.

Dampsey went to Terry to find out where he came from and why he had the same last name with Big Mike.
