(403 words) We all know that parents largely determine the fate of their children. But mature people also tend to make mistakes, so this influence can not be called positive by any means always. In this case, can the children themselves influence the fathers, can they teach them a lesson? I think so, because the family should be able to find mutual understanding. To verify this, it is enough to make out suitable literary examples.
In the novel by I. S. Turgenev, “Fathers and Sons,” the arrival of youth greatly changed life in the Kirsanovs' house. The ideological clash with the children convinced the old people that they were behind the new trends and were not right in everything. So, after a duel with Bazarov, Pavel Petrovich realized that he vainly opposed the marriage of his brother and Fenechka. She is the mother of his child, therefore, she must receive legal status, otherwise misfortune cannot be avoided. The girl lived all this time in the position of the concubine of the master, and this she did not deserve. Previously, the elderly aristocrat was embarrassed by the unequal origin of the newlyweds, he did not want mesalliance, because he was afraid of public condemnation. But after the fight, which was organized because of the kiss of Eugene and Fenechka, the hero bitterly repented of his error and asked his brother to marry a young woman. Nikolai Petrovich himself also learned a lot. He stubbornly watched the experiments, listened carefully to Eugene, in order to understand how to communicate with his son. As a result, he established close relations with him, together they created a friendly family. So one cannot deny the fact that children can radically affect their parents.
In W. Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, children frantically rebelled against the will of their parents to preserve their love. They were representatives of the warring clans, so there was no question of their marriage. The heroine was threatened with a forced marriage, and her chosen one could not do anything. Then they decided to prepare an escape and a secret engagement, but this plan also failed. The young man mistook the girl who was fast asleep for the corpse, despaired, and committed suicide. Waking up, Juliet also committed suicide. Love, the power of which overcame the fear of death, taught many parents of the unfortunate victims of Shakespeare's tragedy. They reconciled and stopped the long-standing hostility that poisoned the lives of many people. In memory of the children, they united. Of course, they were enlightened by an extreme measure, but still even this example demonstrates the influence of the younger generation on the generation of fathers.
Thus, both Russian and foreign authors agreed that children can influence fathers: update their knowledge and judgments about the world, teach them responsiveness and understanding, and also open their eyes to glaring injustices, noticed by a fresh look. I think that every family needs an exchange of experience, because both young people and older people have something to share.
